The info-line China Blog: 2009-2010

[Paul Glennon and Emma Shipley]

Part of my role is to travel once a year to China to meet offer holders for BIAD. During these visits I have been very fortunate to have Emma Shipley, an Alumnus from the BA (Hons) Textile Design course, accompany me. Emma did a fantastic job on both trips talking about the student experience and reassuring the students that joining BIAD and being a part of Birmingham City University is a wonderful opportunity.

2009

Emma shows work digitally to students at a dinner event.

The BCU brand is well known in China and all of our events were well attended.

Part of our trip was dedicated to meeting the agents that support us.

Sharon Chen, our International Officer based in Shanghai, was brilliant at looking after the students (and us! Thank you Sharon!)

Many of our talks were based in the British Council buildings.

Above you can see me giving advice to some new students on portfolios.

Emma and I also visited various institutes that were keen to have their students come to us. Here we are looking at their portfolios.

This is me on my last day in Hong Kong with our agents, Chamberlains.

2010

In 2010 we had a very similar schedule only this time Sharon Chen arranged for the students to complete a competition and Emma and I judged the work!

More photographs coming soon!
