A long time ago I discovered a book called ‘A Primer of Visual Literacy’ by Donis A. Dondis. In this book Dondis writes about ‘artistic expression and utility of purpose’. What she meant by this was the ability to combine art and function as one.

Gesamtkunstwerk which loosely translates as 'total work of art' is what I am trying to do with this website. As my job is very time consuming my creative work can take a backseat. So, I have channelled my Associate Dean work into a platform that requires me to perform and think creatively and this website is the result.

The Internet is one of the most important communication tools of our time. The combination of communication, function, design and art on the Internet have always interested me. This site is an attempt to try and combine all of the above to service a job whilst scratching an itch that I have, to create and be creative with new media.
